Learning the Ropes at the Swampscott Farmers’ Market

It’s been a busy four months since House of Sand & Bone has officially launched, and much has changed.

We started primarily by designing needlepoint canvases, sticking to a nautical and marine theme. In the beginning these were digital downloads, while we waited on the paint house to complete our orders. We spent time stitching and reworking pieces, and coming up with new ideas.

Also during this time, we decided to test our products in the local farmers’ market to get some personal feedback. This has been a tremendous amount of work, but immensely helpful. We have since added art prints, stationary, paperweights, and apparel. We have participated in eight markets and have only four more left as the Swampscott Farmer’s Market winds down. Because of all that is required with this, we have not focused on our e-commerce. But things are changing.

Our website is now updated, reflecting the products we have sold in the market, and includes the promised hand-painted canvases. We are super excited to jump back in our online presence. Hope to see you all there!
